About Us
Esbenshade Farms was started in 1963 on a farm just outside Manheim, PA by H. Glenn Esbenshade and his wife Rachael. For the first 17 years the eggs produced on the farm were sold to other processors. In 1980 the company’s first grading machine was installed on a farm purchased by Mr. Esbenshade near Mount Joy, PA. This made it possible to begin marketing their eggs themselves. A feed mill was built in 1985 on the Mount Joy site. Feed formulating and manufacturing for the farms’ birds allowed for greater control over nutrition and costs. The company continued to expand, and today includes three fully automated egg production and grading facilities.
